Look around you at FBC, what do you see?
People talking and enjoying a cup of coffee: The FBC Worship Band leading energetic worship music: a first time guest receiving a copy of “How Good is Good Enough”: someone diligently listening to the message and taking notes.
Each of these ministries is possible because FBC is a member supported church. Without the tithes and offerings of our members and attenders it would be impossible to offer ministries that help people to become fully developed followers of Christ.
Imagine… What would happen if 100% of FBC’s regular attenders took the step to be a regular giver at FBC. These are just a few things that would be possible:
- Expansion of current ministries
- Creation of new ministries
- Greater impact on our city
- More lives radically changed
- Deeper personal relationships with God

Is my giving tax-deductible?
All contributions are 100% tax-deductible. A giving statement is mailed at the end of each quarter as well as the end of the year to help you keep track of your giving. Giving envelopes are available for your use.
What does the Bible say about giving?
The Bible says more about giving than Heaven, prayer, or even faith! Here’s just a sample of what God says about giving:
- Faithful giving draws me closer to God — “Where ever your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matt 6:21
- Faithful giving makes me happy. — “There is more happiness in giving than receiving.” — Acts 20:35
- Faithful giving reminds me that everything belongs to God. — “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” — Deuteronomy 8:18
- Faithful giving is the key to a full life. — “Tell them to use their money to do Good. They should be rich in good works and should give generously… By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may take hold of real life. — I Timothy 6:18–19
Why should I give?
- Giving helps me grow in my faith.
- Giving supports the ministries of First Baptist Church.
- Giving allows me to be a part of God’s impact here in Groveport.
One of the greatest measures of spiritual maturity is how we handle the resources that God has given us. Stewardship, honoring God with our finances, is a form of discipleship that will help us to become a fully developed follower of Christ.
How much should I give?
The Bible says that every believer should give a minimum of 10% of their income, or a tithe, to the local church. Anything over 10% is called an offering and is a way to honor God through giving sacrificially.
